The second annual SAP Controlling conference took place September 22 – 25, 2013 in San Diego, CA. The conference brought together SAP Controlling professionals from across the United States, Europe, and Central America for 4 days of sessions and networking.
A number of hot topics emerged during the course of the conference and were discussion points during sessions and networking. We have selected a few hot topics to share with you, along with related session content. Three Controlling 2013 presentations are available for download. Like the previous conference, many Controlling 2013 conference participants are continuing to evaluate SAP HANA and wanted to understand what the impact on their organization will be. Janet Salmon, Chief Product Owner for Management Accounting at SAP AG, presented a session called “SAP HANA and SAP Controlling – New Opportunities and New Challenges” and introduced HANA and the technical concepts behind in-memory data management and how those concepts impact SAP Controlling. John Jordan presented a session called “Set up and utilize internal orders as standard SAP® functionality.” Internal orders are an often overlooked part of standard controlling functionality.
