Attending conferences is one of the best and most cost-effective ways to get training and excel at your job, so why is it so hard to get approval? With tight training budgets, employees have to make a solid case to get approval to attend an SAP conference. The key is putting together a strong proposal that clearly defines the benefits to your organization, to your professional training plan, and the expected costs. Here are a 4 key pieces of information to include in your proposal:
1. Highlight the content and how it is applicable to your role and organization. How many total number of sessions are there? Be sure to list 3 or 4 sessions that are directly relevant to your job or a problem you are trying to solve in your proposal.
2. You will not only receive training, but you can train other team members when you return with the knowledge that you gain. If you will have access to conference presentations, be sure to note that in your proposal.
3. Note how you can maximize your company’s SAP investment and help them get the most out of it. For example, what speakers, experts, participants, and exhibitors will be in attendance that you could network with?
4. Clearly outline the estimated costs in your proposal. Include:
*Conference Registration
*Airfare
*Hotel
*Food (Don’t forget to note what’s included with your conference registration fee – breakfasts, lunches, and receptions are often included.)
*Miscellaneous costs (For example, airport transportation, etc.)
