Few decisions shape an S/4HANA implementation more than the ledger and currency design - and few are harder to revisit later.
This session offers practical guidance across the deployment scenarios that matter most. In Public Cloud, Universal Parallel Accounting (UPA) is the standard, with up to 3 currencies, consistent currency configuration across all components and single-valuation ledgers. In Private Cloud and On-Premises with its up to 10 currencies per ledger - including the functional currency - you have to decide between UPA and its harmonized currency setup across General Ledger, Asset Accounting, and Material Ledger or no UPA with its separate, manually aligned configurations. We will cover how to handle parallel valuation, shifted fiscal years, and - for customers not adopting UPA today - how to design the ledger and currency setup now to keep a future UPA migration straightforward rather than disruptive.
