Work centers are the point of interface that allows for activity quantities and costs from cost centers to be transferred to material and manufacturing order costs.
This session demonstrates how activity quantities and costs are calculated and explores many misconceptions concerning how routing data, such as standard values, are used in formulas. Formulas are used for both capacity planning and scheduling as well, and the interaction between these formulas and costing formulas will be highlighted. Using the S/4HANA system, manufacturing management can now also zero in on costs and variances at the work center level using the Fiori app Analyze Costs by Work Center / Operation. This is now an important tool for managing the efficiency of the production floor.
