In this recording from the Controlling 2015 Conference, John Pringle shares how Lundin Eagle Mine translated their MS Visio cost model into SAP configuration and design to capture costs and variances in their mining and milling operations
In this session, Eagle Mine shares how they developed a process flow cost model of their newly commissioned mining and milling operations and how this cost model guided the design and implementation of the costing processes in SAP. John covers:
Process manufacturing aspects including resources, master recipes, process orders, cost estimates and the cost component structure
Cost model flows, assessments, plan & actual activity allocations, and settlement
Month end process: revaluation at actual prices, co-product settlement, and variance analysis
Best practices for costing apportioned co-products, activity prices calculation, and actual and plan statistical key figures as a basis for an analytics dashboard
At the end of this session, you will have a methodology for building cost models in either Visio or Excel which serve as a guide for implementing cost allocations, product cost planning, and cost object controlling in SAP.
Don't miss John's session at Controlling 2016 Master currency settings and multi-currency transactions in SAP FI/CO.
